Oh, what a journey it has been! 90 years of geological lectures, rocks and minerals, social events, and friendships that have stood the test of time. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to the original Ore Gangue Members and Faculty who laid the foundation for our successful Alumni Group today.
Can you imagine the excitement and passion that must have filled the lecture halls all those years ago? Geology enthusiasts coming together, sharing their love for rocks and minerals, and probably debating the merits of sedimentary versus igneous formations. Oh, the intellectual debates must have been something to behold!
But let's not forget the social events! I can only imagine the legendary parties that the Ore Gangue Members threw. I bet they knew how to have a good time, balancing their academic pursuits with some well-deserved fun. I wonder if they had a "Rockin' Rocks" theme party or perhaps a "Mineral Masquerade Ball" – the possibilities are endless!
And let's not overlook the friendships that were forged during those field schools. Spending days exploring the great outdoors, getting our hands dirty, and discovering the wonders of nature together – it's no wonder that those bonds have lasted for decades. The Ore Gangue Members must have had some incredible adventures, and we can only aspire to continue their legacy.
So, here's to 90 years of geological excellence, laughter, and camaraderie! Let's raise a glass to the Ore Gangue Members and Faculty who started it all.
